Our self-titled debut album is released today, yay! This is what the nice people at Friend Of Mine Records has to say about it:
Emerged from the musical melting pot of Northern Europe, Will Gambola Sing, an instrumental pop/rock quartet from Sweden, seems to have achieved what they set out to achieve. Three years after the acclaimed debut with “Overheard Dialogue Reconstructed EP,” WGS has finally perfected their sound that is surely enough to stand out from the scene. With an ensemble of two beautiful guitars, the elastic yet soft sounding rhythm section, just the right amount of keyboards, and memorable electronic bits, this self-titled first album was carefully woven by their sincere hands.
There’s no tricks, no gimmicks, just plain beauty coming out from their simple, straightforward approach to music. Some may recall the epic works of great pioneers such as Tortoise, Tristeza, The Album Leaf, 33.3, and Unwed Sailor; for this album somehow brings back the best earliest days of post-rock. True, it does hold the same kind of never fading brilliance as all the authentic masterpieces have. Just like your favorite records of all time, this is something you could play on repeat, like forever.
Comment from Shota Sato (euphoria):
Songs without sings, like drawings drawn with delicate colors and touch. Sound merrily, sometimes melancholy. In this sketchbook arrived from Stockholm, I see all the different times and places blending into the cold and warm air. Flipping from one page to another, one would feel some nostalgia for the scenery never seen, and feel something different about the sceneries ever seen.

Last week we met up in the rehearsal space. As usual it was really fun to play music together, and we wrote four new songs in a couple of hours.

Two members from Will Gambola Sing has been involved in the new album “Did Not Leave To Find But To Forget, To Leave Behind” by Tarantula Waltz. John Roger produced and recorded the album, and Bo Anders played bass and some pedal steel. The reviews have been really good, and the band recently played the morning news show on TV4.

A bit late, but WGS-drummer Roger is playing with his other band The Grand Opening tonight at Landet in Stockholm. Since WGS-bass player Bo Anders will play in the band, it is actually half of WGS on stage!
